Privacy policy
Short version: your countdowns stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We can't see them. We don't show ads and we don't track you across apps. Effective date: set at launch.
What stays with you
Countdown names, dates, emoji, photos and notes are stored on your device and in your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). We have no access to them. Shared links carry the countdown in the part of the URL after '#', which browsers never send to our server.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage events (for example 'countdown created' or 'widget added') with a random ID, app version, iOS version and country (worked out from your IP address, which is then discarded). Never the names or dates of your countdowns. Processor: PostHog.
- Crash reports with device model, iOS version and the code location of the crash. Processor: Sentry.
- Purchase status (whether you own Plus) tied to a random ID. Processor: RevenueCat. Apple handles payment; we never see your card.
What we don't do
- No ads and no ad networks.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, so we never ask for tracking permission.
- No selling or renting of data.
- No account, email or phone number required.
Calendar and notifications
If you use Import from Calendar, YaySoon reads your events on your device to show the list. Events are not uploaded. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone.
Keeping and deleting data
Usage events are kept for up to 12 months, crash reports for up to 90 days (proposed retention; set in each tool before launch). Delete all data in Settings erases everything on the device and in iCloud and resets your analytics ID. See /delete for details.
Children
YaySoon is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
